Forgotten Portraits is the new emotive and compelling album from NadNavillus. Comprised of nine tracks delivering a pastiche of rock and prog, with blues, jazz and experimental elements, the songs are composed around poems by incarcerated people or those directly affected by incarceration. Forgotten Portraits also includes a guest appearance from Glen Hansard on ‘Poesy’. The album will be available on streaming platforms on the 9th of June, with the launch of physical albums and the release show at the Montrose Saloon (Chicago, IL) taking place on the 14th of June.
“I am very grateful to the poets for allowing me the use of their work for this collection of songs. The music reflects the complexity of the subject matter and is alternately tender and raucous, melodic and abrasive, brooding and playful, simplistic and intricate. It is worth noting that none of the songs celebrate the actions or consequences of the stories told.” – NadNavillus
