Through Mists manifests aggressive music by drawing upon the extreme metal realms, and adding a creative twist. The one man project is preparing to unleash dissonant and heavy textures and tones in the upcoming album Summon The Severed. This offering, ventures into realms darker than before. Summon The Severed releases on the 8th December 2023 via Syrup Moose Records. 

Through Mists comments: 

“Through Mists is really happy to release Summon The Severed on Syrup Moose Records! In the newest installment of The Traveler’s saga, we explore some new ground musically while the story continues as we dive into Hell to resurrect the dismembered gods!”

Summon The Severed is a follow up to the latest full length Starkiller (2023), taking the music and the message to a far gloomier place. Continuing the storyline of Starkiller, we encounter the protagonist, known as The Traveller, seeking to redeem himself and to free himself and other’s from the tyranny of the whims of the gods. The Traveller has gone to the lengths of finding a way to kill the gods of the world and then hatches a plan to resurrect their corpses to terramorph the planet. Musically, each song is full of quick, fast paced riffing, thick chugging, groovy base, with both blastbeats and drum fills. The synth and piano parts are intentionally less prominent on this album to illustrate the protagonist’s view point changing to a more aggressive and almost comically maniacal worldview.

The album will be available digitally, on streaming platforms and as a limited cassette tape run.

About Through Mists: 
Based out of the city of Montreal, Canada, James Aniston (Synastry) has devised Through Mists, an eerie, moody, aggressive project to convey his mind’s creations through. Diving head first into the audio, self-production world during the year of the pandemic, James has been tirelessly composing, tracking and producing his own ideas. These ideas have culminated to form the basis of Through Mists, which fully emerged in May 2021.
