Following the release of their debut EP ‘Novus’ last year, the industrial power metal duo are releasing their new single on the 30th October 2020. Just in time to add it to your Halloween playlist!

The new track focuses on the idea of being different, and how this is something to be celebrated. It’s a fantastic concept to explore, one that is a popular topic in the alternative and heavier genres. It’s great to see how CELAVI have taken this focus and made it their own.

The track opens with an eerily catchy melody which builds powerfully into an explosion of heavy instrumentation. It’s clear from the off that this riff is one that will get stuck in your head. The guitar tones they use are just delicious! The heavier tones blend really well with different textures and pitches of the synths. Sarah’s haunting vocals give the track CELAVI’s distinctive sound – the contradiction of industrial metal and delicate vocals. The harmonies she uses add something extra to the creepy aspect of the sound. I do feel that in the chorus her vocals are a little bit quiet against the music but the overall effect of the track is fantastic.

Sarah and Gwion have produced another dynamic track that fits perfectly in their signature sound. ‘Stain’ follows on really well from their debut EP and, if you haven’t heard their music before, it’s a great track to introduce you to the duo! Make sure you give ‘Stain’ a spin!
