‘Can’t Breathe’ is the debut release from Phrenographers, the Norwegian-based doom / post rock / experimental duo by Vincent and Igor (who also plays in Dreamslain). ‘Can’t Breathe’ is the first song the duo wrote after deciding to play music together from which the new band grew out of.

Phrenographers fuse deliciously heavy guitars with soaring vocals to produce a dramatic sound. Fuzz laden from the off, ‘Can’t Breathe’ is incredibly atmospheric as it gradually develops and grows throughout the track’s progression. There’s a minimalist quality to the new single with its slow pace really showing off the individual elements of the vocals, bass guitars and percussion. Each part is given its own space without the music feeling lacking at any point. Building into the bridge, the elevated speed changes the dynamics of the song and enhances the overall impact of the listening experience. ‘Can’t Breathe’ is a stunning debut single hinting at the unique musical style the band are cultivating without revealing all.
